I am Eirene Durom from Kochi. I completed a Bachelor of Social Work from Rajagiri College of Social Sciences and a Master of Social Work from the School of Social Work Roshni Nilaya, Mangalore, I took community development as my specialization in Masters. I joined the three-month fellowship program at SMART India Foundation from October to December 2023 was an enriching and transformative journey. Being part of this fellowship I gain invaluable insights and practical skills, significantly enhancing my professional growth. The core team at SMART India Foundation played a crucial role during the fellowship period, offering constant guidance and support, which was instrumental in successfully completing my tasks. The next supporter and source of encouragement throughout the fellowship was my co-fellow, Lijo, whose collaborative spirit and enthusiasm greatly contributed to the successful execution of the programs. One of the highlights of the fellowship was the involvement in coordinating the National Conference on School Social Work. This opportunity allowed me to manage various aspects of the conference, providing a comprehensive learning experience and instilling a sense of pride in my contributions. Additionally, I engaged in and conducted a range of programs and events, further that I am proud of being the first fellow of the SMART India Foundation. This fellowship has developed my skills and a deep sense of accomplishment and pride in being part of such impactful initiatives.
